Many websites offer free guides or reports in an ebook format. To get these guides visitors often have to fill in their names and email addresses in order to be able to download the guide. The method people usually use on their website to convince visitors to download their ebook is called a squeeze page. This page is designed only to motivate people to leave their email address; which can be used by the site owner to send relevant newsletters or (to make some money) product offers. (Btw: A great WordPress plugin that u can use on your squeeze page to collect mail addresses is G-Lock Double Opt-in Manager).
When you are about to offer your own free ebook on your mainpage or on a squeeze page; you might need some nicely designed ebook covers. A good thing is NOT EVER to use the word ebook on the cover (as people do not react that positive to that ‘word’ anymore nowadays). Better use ‘report’ or ‘guide’ or whatever else describes your particular ebook best.
